Volunteer with Community Links (community development and environmental education through service and immersion): on-site volunteer (reforestation and education) in Oaxaca, Mexico for 2 months in 2004 and Puebla, Mexico for 10 days in 2010 and fundraised 4 times (totaling over $1,000) primarily selling products that promote sustainability ($742 to international organization and $537 to local teachers in USA).

Volunteer with Special Love (support children with cancer and their families): volunteered multiple weekend long events, 2 years.

Volunteer with All Souls (promote social justice in a religious setting): co-organized food drive and charity sales, 2 years.

Grand Award judge for Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (largest international pre-college science competition and promote science and engineering): served as judge for energy and transportation

Member of Materials Research Society (promote communication of materials research): selected to join Women Subcommittee, co-chaired national special breakfast, and co-organized professional development seminar.

Mentor for Youth Villages (reduce foster child’s risk of drug use, violence, and academic failure): received outstanding mentor review for providing consistent, multi-year support, 3 years.

Student assistant, ALANA (African, Latin, Asian, and Native American) center, supported the retention of students of color, 3 years.

Domestic Violence Advocate, Women Helping Battered Women, independently managed overnights at emergency shelter and hotline, 7 months.

Assistant Domestic Violence Child Advocate, Meriden/Wallingford Chrysalis, supported survivors and provided childcare, 3 years.

Lead volunteer for Cherry Blossom (celebrate relationship between U.S. and Japan), during a weeklong event managed over 50 volunteers for over 1,000 visitors, 2 years.
